Coherence argument for multiplicity

From Aware Theory

The Coherence argument for multiplicity is that the argument that the theory of the multiplicity of self is the most coherent theory (so far developed) with the rest of science, and it is logically and experimentally coherent within its own theoretical structure. The concept of multiplicity directly comes from the fact that structure and functioning of matter is duplicatable, so there can be many bodies that exist at the same time that have the same structure and functioning. Further more, since identical structure and functioning is not necessary for there to be produced, by a body, identical behavior and consciousness, there can be even more approximate structures and functioning of matter producing the same consciousness and ixperiencitness. There is nothing supernatural about the structure and functioning of matter. So there is nothing supernatural about there being more than one body having structures and functionings close enough alike, at the same time, to produce the same consciousness and ixperiencitness.

Soul based theories are not coherent with science because they postulate something that is supernatural that has not been shown to exist. Thus souls can not be studied scientifically.

When mortalistic theories, like many atheists believe, predict that individual conscious beings, like each human, will never experience conscious existence again after death, it might be that they believe that there will never be a structure and functioning of matter that will be close enough to the that of the original's structure and functioning to ever produce the original's consciousness and ixperiencitness again. Superimmortality shows why there are many different structures and functioning of matter or physipaths that will produce the same ixperiencitness. If this is true this means it is increasing possible that a conscious beings can consciously exist again after death. However, many mortalists believe that their consciousness and ixperiencitness is tied to only one specific body not to the structure and functioning of matter. This belief is not coherent with science. This belief needs something that is permanently destroyed at death and they say it is the body. What aspect of the body is destroyed permanently? What happens in the body over time is change in structure and functioning. Superimmortality predicts that if the structure and functioning of the body, any time after death, is returned to the way it was any time before death, with any amount of new matter, the same ixperiencitness that was produced at that previous time will be produced again. Mortalists might agree with this to one extent or another. For example, they allow for a limited amount of time being dead and only part of the matter being replaced in the body. People who have their heads frozen and believe that science can eventually return them to life think they can be dead for many years and then have most of their body replaced with different matter.

Two definitions of coherence are the quality of being logical (characterized by clear, sound reasoning) and consistent (unchanging in effect) and second, the quality of forming a unified whole.

It is a bias to think that each one of us are unique consciously and ixperiencitnessly.
