Same identical self reported self identity
More actions
A person may never say my name is "such and such" in a certain time period in his life or convey any other self identifying terms or actions. But the sequence of self identifying actions will be identical even if there are no self identifying behaviors because the behavior will be identical in either a repeat of structure and functioning in the same body or duplication in another body. Identical self identification does not have to be real in the sense of saying ones actual name. People frequently call themselves by different names for different reasons. For example, a child at at halloween might call himself "Superman". Duplicating the same structure and functioning in the same body or in a different body will produce the same self identity of term Superman.
The original can be asked a sequence of questions about who he thinks that he is. If in the same body the structure and functioning is reset to the way it was during the original asking of this set of questions and if the structure and functioning of this body stayed close enough like it was during the original questioning then the answers would be the same and in the same order.
- For example
- Question one what is your complete name: Steven Larry Jones.
- What is your SS#: 603-54-7893.
- What is your phone number: 360- 526- 8813.
- Do you think that you are a cidentireplica of your original self? I am the one original me! How could I not be me? If I was a copy of "me" I would not have memories of my past life before I was copied. I have memories of being three years old, falling and breaking my front tooth.
- Do you remember being asked these questions before now?
- Could you have been asked these question before and forgotten about them? Why are you asking such weird questions? Do you think that I have lost part of my memory because I clearly remember what I did yesterday and through most of my life. I do not think I have any amnesia at all.
- Are you lying about any of your answers? Sort of, I mis-remembered my SS#. Two numbers that I gave you are wrong I remembered them later but It was not something I wanted to bring up again.
- Questioning like this can go on and on. No matter how many question and answers there are if the structure and functioning is the same the responses will be identical as well. It is possible that there is divergence due to different factors in the structure and functioning in the body and when the structure and functioning is different enough from how the body functioned the first time there will be different responses as well.
- Any different body, if the structure and functioning is closely enough alike, will produce the exact same self reported self identity.
A number of different questions can be added to the questions asked to original to see if the cidentireplica actually thinks that he is the original. This process can be repeated with every original and its cidentireplica. For example, you and every cidentireplica of you will think that they are you, just like you think that you are in fact you.
The science of superimmortality predicts that a cidentireplica will have the same identical self reported self identity as does the original it is templated from. Many videntireplicas of the same original will also have the same identical self reported self identity as does the original because their body's structure and functioning is so closely like that of the original that the behavior is still identical to that of the original.
