Television analogies for singular conscious existence theories are analogies that use televisions as explaining examples for the different singular theories of conscious existence. These analogies are not meant as a put down to any theory. But it is meant to show the differences between theories in at best an approximate way using the television as a body analogy and the show that the television is creating on its screen. There is obviously much more complexity in each of these singular theories that the television analogies may not capture well. One reason is because there are many different people each having their own personal perspective on their and other religions.
Television analogy for a singular body is you theory. A singular television can only produce one particular show and when the television no longer works that show can never be created again by any other television. A version of this is that all shows that that a particular television set produces until it stops working is the analogy to you. Either other televisions can not produce the same shows or if they do they are still somehow "supernaturally" not the same. This theory is supposed to be one of the scientific theories but to make it work it has to become unexplainable in terms of what we know about matter and energy.
Television analogy for a singular consciousness is you theory. Only a singular television can produce the show at a time and there has to be specific show connectors (conscious connectors) to tie the show (consciousness) together produced by a changing body over time. Depending on the particular theory, connectors can be memories, same environment, same goals same actors and behavior of actors, etc., at least at the points of connection. One of the most important concept sometimes is a continuousness of the same show without interruptions. The show connector or one of the show connectors is not the ixperiencitness concept in this theory. When there are not the required show connectors then it is the end of the show (you) permanently. A version of this theory is that if the right show is reproduced then it can be an extension of the show. But it is not specified how this is done.
Television analogy for the body and soul is you theory A particular television can only produce one singular show and when it no longer works that show can never be created again. But it can be extended by way of a strange non material supernatural something, that the only thing that we can know about it is that it exists, but it seems that can know nothing else useful about it (soul). It some how can enter another television but only one. There are a number of versions of this theory. One is the "television soul" does not enter another television but resides as a "television soul" in "television heaven" producing "television heaven shows" forever.
Television analogy for there is no real singular you theory There is really not a unique show produced by the television, it is just a combination of experiences that any television can produce but the different televisions will produce difference sequences and combination of experiences. Thus you are not a specific thing or show or television. Parts of many different shows can be found produced on many different television sets. This is somewhat the same as awaretheory except rather than there not be a specific show that corresponds to you in the analogy, you are much more than parts of different shows, you are many different shows that can be created by many different television sets. Thus there are or can be many complete "yous" and also parts of the many different "yous" experiencing many differnt things.
Television analogy for the matter assimilation speed limit theory With this theory there is a limit to how fast and how many parts of a television can be replaced before it can no longer produce the same show. In other words somehow the television needs to influence or "teach" the new parts how to function correctly to produce the correct show and this takes time. If more than half of the television is replaced at a time it becomes a different television because more than 50% of the television is different and can not produce a continuation of the same show. The human body is constantly replacing the matter that is made of so you are not made of the same matter when you die as when you are born. Awaretheory predicts that all of the matter in the body can be replaced instaneously and if the structure and functioning is close enough to the structure and functioning of the matter that it replaced then the same consciousness and ixperiencitness will be the same.
Television analogy for the reincarnation theory When a television stops working the singular show can go into another electronic device (Not sure or how or why like with a soul). Upon the death of each electronic device, If the show is good it gets a better electronic device as a body when the show is bad it gets a worse electronic device as a body. When it progresses to the point there are no beter electronic devices or better television to be reincarnated into it becomes electricity running through all electronic devices with no self or show but part of all shows.
Television analogy for you are every consciousness every produced by every body theory. Every show is a version of each other. No show is so different from each other that it can be called a different show.
When these theories are stated in ways using material objects in order to understand conscious existence through time, rather than bodies, they seem strange and rather disconnected from reality.
