I came to America on a ship called the Mayflower. Life is in most ways better today than it was back then. I am not sure how long I have been alive. In the beginning I thought I was like every one else. A short painful life followed by an infinitely long painful life in hell for the few moments of pleasure you have had while you were alive here on earth. My life almost ended when people realized that I was not getting older. The natural conclusion by them was that I was evil and I should be burnt at the stake that would have surely ended my life there and then but for a few friends that warned me slightly ahead of time to leave town. For years I thought there was something wrong with me. I traveled from town to town never getting to close to any one or staying to long. I developed current skills such as blacksmithing, writing, or knowing about drugs from plants that were always useful in making a living. The necessary people skills were blinding in, and getting along. I never wanted to get people suspicious of me.

I can die but my body keeps me from getting old and seems to repair itself well. Until modern times I did not understand that what I have is a set of genes that repair the cell in my body so that they do not get old. It is a random fluke of nature. Something that scientists are looking for now. Even though I would like to help mankind with this endeavor, I am not sure that this is a good thing for people not to get old. You can still die from asphyxiation, dehydration, starvation, diseases and accidents. But your body does not fall apart from old age if given a chance to heal.

I have actually tried to kill my self but I was saved at the last moment by being found to early from an over dose of sleeping pills. Most of my life I have wished that I was dead because life can be so hard. When I believed in religion I tried so desperately to be a good person in terms of religion. But the longer you live the more religiously “bad” things you do. Consequently, there appears to be no way to go to heaven. Now days I am not religious and I feel sorry for all the religious people in the world because I have experience what they are experiencing. Religion is a construct of man.

I have had just about every disease. Every flu and cold strain. I have broken most of my bones in my body, I have been shot with bullets, hit with arrows spears clubs. Cut with knives for many reasons including being bleed when I was sick. I have gone through most of this with out pain killers including being operated on. I lost a leg in the civil war. They had to saw it off it was shattered by a mimi ball. Did I forgot to mention my body has the ability to regenerate body parts. It is a slow process of course but fast enough to get you into a lot of trouble people do not like to see you grow a body part. It freaks them out -- they want to burn you at the stake, lock you, or put you in a freak show. Of course now days they want to scientifically study you. Loosing a body part is the hardest thing to deal with because you are not only incapacitated you have to more a number of times while your body part is regenerating.

I have had many names over the years. But recently I though of the name mortalnot. I can die so I am mortal, but I certainly have a life different and longer than most peoples but like everyone else this might be my last moment. I will not die of cancer, heart attack, stroke, organ failure, but I can bleed to death. Now that life is easier than it was in the past my goal is to live as long as I can So I avoid dangerous situations and places. The problem is that it gets more and more difficult to create a new person
