Immortality and Awaretheory
Immortality is a natural part of the universe that does not need gods or supernatural processes like reincarnation or souls to actually exist
Immortality is only achieved through science and technology
The concept of immortality is more complex than the survival of the body and life after death. It is argued that if there are no supernatural concepts or objects in existence like souls or gods then there is no possibility of life after death and immortality. The argument goes that since there is only the material body when it dies that is the end of conscious existence for that person. No other person can carry on that person's personal existence because any other person at best is only a copy and not the original. A different person cannot carry on the same person with a different body it is a logical truth. If this was all there was to it then there would be no life after death or immortality. But being the same person over time is not the important issue. What is important is being conscious. We should not ask what makes the same person over time but what material conditions makes a consciousness that you will experience over time? It is not the body but the structure and functioning of the body that is important in producing a specific consciousness that you will experience. The structure and functioning of matter can be duplicated and approximated in many different ways with different groupings of matter in different places and times. If you can experience conscious existence at any time for at least the life time of this universe this is a form of immortality.
There are no souls or other supernatural entities to produce immortality
Many false ideas about how to create immortality or how it works have been though up over man's history
If creating the right structures and functioning in matter is the key to you experiencing conscious existence a major question is what are all of the structures and functioning of matter that will produce a consciousness that you will experience?
Since there are a large amount of structures and functioning of matter that can be produced that will produced a consciousness that you will experience, should we care which ones get produced if any after our current body's death? Some will be much better than others.
Mummifying the body does not produce immortality
Near death experiences are produced by the functioning of the brain when it is under stress
Should we work toward making better conscious experiences for ourselves in the future? Or should we just let the random processes of nature control our future experiences?
It is believed that the existence of gods is necessary for immortality of man to occur
How do you know what is true?
What we experience in the future after our bodies death can be planed like a vacation. But not like religions or the ancient Egyptians did thinking that there is an after life world separate from this one. Our future conscious existence is controlled by the bodies produced on earth and the rest of the universe or even multiverse during and after our present bodies death. The way to control if and what you experience is based on how material bodies are structures and then function.
Awaretheory says that I am immortal too!
Are gods conscious?
To control matter you need knowledge and intelligence. To do this you need smarter and more capable conscious beings. Luckily there are many more intelligent and capable conscious versions of you than current level conscious versions of yourself. We can make smarter conscious versions of ourselves.
