Proof sequence 1a - Identical structures and functionings of matter produce identical behaviors.
What does this statement mean?
It might be argued that the structure and functioning of matter is identical to the behavior that matter produces but it is more complex than that. There is the behavior of the individual atoms that are composed of the behavior of subatomic particles and energy. Then there are the behavior of molecules and cells and of combinations of cells and organs to the complete behavior of a body. Each level of complexity adds unique elements of behavior that were not at individual aspects at lower levels. For example, you see no evidence of speech at the atomic, molecular, cellular, levels of complexity. The combination of the properties of matter at each successive level of complexity adds up to properties like consciousness and what sounds the body as a whole makes which gives insight into the consciousness produced by this body. The combination of all the lower levels of structure and functioning of matter or behavior of matter add up to the most complex and highest levels of behavior like motion of the body for deliberate actions and self identity through speech.
