Ship of Theseus (human body) experiments

There are a number of " Ship of Theseus" type of experiments that can be applied to humans and other conscious beings. Many mortalist assume that you are your body so the importance of these experiments is in determining under what conditions will a body continue to be the same body.

The first one will be where there is an original and a cidentireplica of this original or visa versa or they both are a cidentireplica of some other original. The statement is often made "A replica is not me". The question is what makes me, me, and a replica of me not me? This first difference between an original and a replica is that original and cidentireplica are in different places and or times and made of different matter. All other physical aspects can be the same such as having identical behavior, thoughts, consciousness, structure and functioning, being made of the same proportions and amount of the same elements in the same placement etc. We are going to imagine exchanging parts between the original and the cidentireplica slowly making the two functioning identically the whole time. At the end of the process the body of the original will contain all of the physical/ material parts of the cidentireplica and cidentireplica will contain all of the physical/material parts of the original. So the original has continuity and continuousness of body and the other one has continuity and continuous of body and the matter of the original. If the matter that the original is made of does not matter then what makes does make the original continue to have the same ixperiencitness?

Which is in the end the original and which is in end the cidentireplica? Is matter or body continuity more important? If there is a switch due to matter where --- at what percentage change in matter does it occur. If matter is really important does that mean that when the matter in your body changes out then you are no longer you?

Superimmortality predicts that it is not the body that is important but the structure and functioning of the body that is important in determining a continuity of self through time. The matter in one body through a continuous process of change in its structure and functioning can produce an enumerable amount of unique personalities

What happens when the bodies are split down the middle and then recombined with the other half of the other body? There is no continuity or continuousness of of all of the matter or all of the body. Both new bodies have the same right to call themselves the original or cidentireplica One might say that there are now two new me's. What happens when you recombine them to the way they were? Are there again two brand new me's or have we reconstructed the original and the cidentireplica? How can a body theorist determine if it is the same body when there is constant change to the body in terms of

For death to be final there must be something about a person that can be destroyed permanently, that can not be restored. If it is a materialistic theory then it can not be supernatural like a soul. What materialistic thing can be destroyed permanently, that can be tied to only one person?

There are problems with the Ship of Theseus analogy as in what happens when the ship is still the same ship but the structure has changed to be a different kind of ship. Row boat to a battle ship or visa versa. Of course there is a difference in mass and the elements used but imagine all of the ways there are to make a boat using the same materials; a row boat could become a canoe or a kayak. Is it still the same boat? Also how do you tell which is the original ship when there are several ships that are exactly alike. If there was a physical way to tell them apart then they would not be identical. An internal or external tag can be put on an object. An identifiable internal tag makes the object different thus not identical. An external tag can be unknowingly or with subterfuge, modified to another designation.
