Desirable immortality

From Aware Theory

Some people talk about the undesirable of immortality. If you do not believe that it is possible to experience immortality It is a reasonable to talk yourself into thinking that it is not possible and undesirable.

There are many types of immortality that are not desirable but not all of them are. In fact, there are many that are very desirable, and actually produceable without destroying the earth or the universe. One argument is that if no one dies then there will be over population on earth. Another is that you would get bored or be unhappy because you would eventually repeat the same experience over and over again.

The first argument is that there are limited resources on earth and to have a good life you have to have a lot of resources. It is said with good reason that there are not enough resources to keep every one that exists on earth now to have the life style of the middle class of the United States. It is argued that with good government, good management, improvements in science and technology, and a change in life style to overall happiness rather trying to get more and more stuff than you need would solve the problem but his in not what we are arguing here. We are using the application of awaretheory's ideas to solve the problems.

Awaretheory has several ideas that can be applied to producing desirable immortality.

1. Identical structure and functioning of matter produce the same consciousness.

2. There are many changes you can make to matter where it stills produces the same consciousness.

3. Different bodies can produce different consciousnesses with the same ixperiencitness at the same and at different times.

4. When you are dead you are not aware of being dead. Stated in another way when you are not conscious you are not aware of not being conscious. You have to be conscious to be aware of not being conscious. You have to be conscious to be aware of dying in the future.

5. You do not have to experience being conscious all of the time to think that you are immortal.

6. Immortality can be defined as there never being a time where you will not experience being conscious again.

7. A consciousness and the body that produces it can be either enhanced or degraded (to some degree) and still have the same ixperiencitness.

8. There are more variations of consciousness, with the same ixperiencitness, for an enhanced body (enhanced neuropath) than a degraded body (degraded neuropath).
