Why superimmortalism is not a religion

From Aware Theory

Superimmortalism can be called a scientific belief system, but not a religion because it is not trying to convert all humans or other conscious beings to a certain set of behaviors or beliefs. Superimmortalism sees the beauty in may different belief systems but it also sees the dogmas present in religions and other belief systems and the restrictions that antiscience belief systems including many religions place on the advancement of science. Without the advancements of science we likely will have a very limited existence in time as conscious beings and as an advanced society. Many people believe in religions and supernatural belief systems because they believe science preaches that conscious existence or life permanently ends at death and religions do not. Superimmortality is science based, understandable and technological useful, and needs no supernatural concepts like gods, souls, sprits, heavens, hells, reincarnation, karma, resurrection, etc. for conscious life to exist for a person after the death of his current body. The ixperiencitness concept opens up a whole new area of understanding about what we are and how we are part of the universe. It may be equivalent to the how scientific concepts like atoms, natural selection, or gravitational attraction have added to the scientific understanding of ourselves and our universe.
