Explainability arguments for superimmortality

From Aware Theory

An argument for the usefulness and truthfulness of superimmortality is in its increased ability to predict consciousness and ixperiencitness in other bodies. The way superimmortality does this is by tying consciousness and ixperiencitness not to bodies, mind substances, souls or other supernatural concepts, but to the structure and functioning of matter. Identical structure and functioning of matter produces identical consciousness and ixperiencitness. Close enough approximate structure and functioning of matter will also produce identical consciousness and ixperiencitness. For the same consciousness and ixperiencitness to be produced the same matter is not necessary nor is continuity of the same matter in the same body. If you want to duplicate your current consciousness and you want to experience this consciousness what you do is duplicate a structure and functioning of matter that is close enough to the way your body is structured and functioning now. If the structure and functioning is not close enough to that of the original's body's structure and functioning it will produce a different consciousness but it can still be a consciousness that has your ixperiencitness. In other words, this greater variation in structure and functioning can still produce a variation in consciousness that you will still experience. Eventually the differences in structure and functioning will produce a consciousness with a different ixperiencitness. Once we know what structures and functioning of matter produce what consciousnesses and ixperiencitnesses we can recreate previous existing people and also versions of you that have never existed before like enhanced versions of you.

The structure and functioning of bodies and brains is something that can be studied scientifically. And they can be technologically manipulated to produce desired consciousnesses and ixperiencitnesses. It does not appear that any body, mind substance, or soul theory can do this. This is because the body theorist believe that the ixperiencitness dies with the death of the body because they believe that you do not experience anything after your current body dies. A mind substance and soul can not be studied, thus not understood, and thus can not be scientifically manipulated for many desire purposes. There is no evidence about how a soul or mind substance does or can maintain the same ixperiencitness after death without a body. Where the science of superimmortality can point to a structure and functioning of matter and say that this will produce a certain consciousness and ixperiencitness, the mind substance or soul theories are likely never to be able to do this.
