Same person

There is a lot of discusion about what makes something the same person over time. The simple answer has always been it is a human body from birth to death. The next point of discussion is what makes for the same person after death. The understanding, or lack of understanding, of this issue, is the basis for many ideas in religions, philosophy, metaphysics, ethics, law, politics, and morals. Understanding the ideas of life after death, and immortality, using the the simple answer has just confused the issue for all of these areas.

Using the concepts of ixperiencitness and structure and functioning instead of the concept of the same person simplifies our understanding of what we really are allowing for many types of life after death, and immortality or stated in another way degrees of itofreedom.
