An important question as to what we are can be imagined as a comparison to the TV analogy there are three important aspects of a TV the first is the object of the TV itself. This is analogous to the body of a person. The second aspect of a TV is the show that it is producing and can produce. This is analogous to the consciousness that a person experiences. The third aspect of the TV is the way it is structured and how it is functioning at any time. The TV itself produces the structure and functioning. The structure and functioning produces the show.
