I propose that we should be skeptical of the belief that there cannot be life after death. It is very easy to assume that when we die that is the total end of our consciousness existence. But there are some totally unscientific ideas involved in this assumption. It is an easy assumption to make because when we see other die we do not see them animate again. Of course, we cannot see into their mental life. However, we have very good scientific reasons to believe that their body no longer produces consciousness. This is because science tell us the when the brain does not function properly it does not produce consciousness.
