Incoherent theory
An incoherent theory is a theory that contradicts itself. For instance, if an object in the theory is labeled with a name, then that object is then given specific properties and later it is given opposite (contradictory) properties by name there can be incoherence going on in the theory. If an object is said to be made of rock and latter said to be made of water there can be a coherence problem. But if it turns out that the rock is solid, very hard, and dark it can be water in the form of extremely cold ice with impurities making it dark like a rock. Science can predict that this rock can change into a puddle of dirty water with the proper internal changes (temperature of the rock rising enough).
Science is full of explaining phenomena in terms of other supposed known or explained phenomena. Science is an interconnected coherent explanation of phenomena that can be used to predict future events and the future behavior of objects. Science is continuously encountering contradictory phenomena that has to be explained. A simple explanation is that nature is much more complex than we keep assuming or hoping that it is. What might appear to be a few simple subatomic particles can create a world of extremely complexity including consciousness.
Incoherence in a theory can lead to poor predictive ability. A theory can be for the purpose of entertainment where incoherence may not be a problem. For instance, when some one theorizes that the moon is made of cheese, swiss cheese because it appears to have round holes in it, it value is not in its coherence with scientific reality but with it entertainment value.
One of the important aspects of superimmortality and the ixperiencit theory of consciousness are their coherence with science as a whole, and internal coherence within its principles, predictions and explanations.
