Immortality is only going to be for the one that make it for themselves the only ones that can do this will be version of the self that apply science to solve the vase problems that are associated with immortality.

Pascal wager can also be applied to any religion there are all sorts of conceivable religions that can be set up the same way as pascal wager each one you can say there is a possibility that if you do x,y,x you will have infinitely great rewards and if you do not do x,y,z, you will have infinite long period of suffering. Each different religion can have a different set of x,y,z’s, that contradict each other. When all of these, or even a contradictory set are taken into account pascal wager becomes meaningless as a tool to decide behavior and belief.

Here is one xyz that is contradictory to all religions.

We can say that god made immortality for those versions of a specific ixperiencit who are smart enough to progress to higher levels of control over consciousnesses Though we might want to create version of religious persons for study, we will not want to waste time on them when there is a limited resources and infinite version of self that are not religious. No matter how large the amount of awarepaths are, there will always be a limit to the number that can be produced in a limited universe by Since religious awarepaths will not be able to produce awarepaths any other way than through reproduction, will not have the science to travel through the universe or even survive the cataclysms that will wipe them off the earth

God says that religions are just a stage in the evolution of conscious beings. The real next step that god wants is rationality in conscious beings. How does he tell us that he what rationality, science, etc. and not religious dogma. Through rational thought and science -- the itotheory. The itotheory gives man immortality and put the ability in rational scientific beings’ hands. You will not have immortality if you have the wrong behavior supporting religion over science, dogma over open minded creative but skeptical rational thought. If you go with religion you will die off. You will not have immortality. You will suffer all the horrors that we have here on earth. You will not experience your loved one again. There can even be vindictively produced awarepaths where you religious versions are in hell so to speak. You can pick the irrational way or the rational way that god want you to pick. If god does not wholly exist maybe we are to create him by becoming him with the concepts of enhancement fragmentation and transformation.

The problem with religions is that they are subservient not progressive It is not their fault the one that are aggressive and different usually did not survive to reproduce these genes.So culture is a way to keep genetic diversity out of the gene pool. This is probably a valuable process if there is too much genetic change rather than too little. For example, if there are all sorts of genetic variation that happen randomly to a population they may not be able to get along solve the problems that they have adapt to their environment etc causing all sorts of problems If you do not have a group of people that can produce food, shelter, protect them from wild animals diseases etc, and raise children that can do the same you will die out. Culture has the ability to pass on skills for survival but also to eliminate people that do not have the ability to survive in that culture thus eliminating those genes that cause these disruptions. It is true that you have to adapt. Because many species dies out that could not adapt. But maybe they really do not die out they change into something else when the environment is stable they reproduce fine but all the time so much genetic variability is happening that new changes are happening all the time. Species are simply replaced by other species genes that survive better in this environment. If you can not behave a certain way maybe your genes are different enough that you can not fit into a culture. So a culture is a way of perpetuating a certain set of surviving genes. Even if a culture has destructive elements the positive aspects of eliminating under productive genes is still there. Religion is one aspect of culture. So religion can have the purpose of making a gene pool more homogenous which in a stable environment can be good or self perpetuating.

As a scientist I know that any scientific theory idea can be partially to totally wrong so this theory can be partially to totally wrong as well but the ideas that this theory replaces are wrong as well so if the itotheory is wrong what replaces it will not be the old ideas or theories but a much better theory. This is what the scientific process is all about not setting a dogma and forever perpetuating that dogma but questioning the aspects of any theory to make it work better fit the data better etc.
