There are many enhancements that a person can imagine occuring to their current body. Some of these enhancements being produced by current technology. Other enhancements can be imagines with future exsiting technologies. These future technologies for the enhancement of you body do not exist now so that thinkers that believe that there is no conscious existence after a person’s death will believe that this can and will not apply to them.
Superimmortality predicts that any possible enhancement that could occur to your body today but is not applied can be applied to a different body with the physamoment that your current body is producing. what you will experience is what ever this enhancement is but produced by this other body.
Any enhancement that can be applied to any body in the future can be applied to any conscious version of you in the future.
If you lack an arm you will currently experience life without that arm. But in the future there is likely ways for you to regrow, replace, etc., that arm/ That experience you are not going to have now. But in the future there could be a near identical physapath version of you without an arm that is producing the exact same awarepath that you are. He then could experience the addition of this enhancement. To you it would seem like it is happening right now even though it will be in the future relative to now and produced with the with advanced technology of that period. Yes, why would the “powers that be” decide to make a version of you not having an arm with all of the necessary environmental conditions produced just to regrow or replace your arm? This is especially true when they could have fixed the problem much sooner in your life. What would be produced would be the experience for you. If the experience is the only goal of this event then with enough technology your brain could have been created separately from your body with the structure and functioning that you had at that particular time in your life without the need to create your whole previous life and a whole body. In this case you would not have a body or an arm your whole conscious existence of reality would be created by an AI generating reality produced for you. This experience machine would create this structure and functioning version of you, then create the reality that you are currently experiencing for this version of you, then create the experience of having an arm replacement.
