What are the necessary aspects of survival for a person? It is being conscious. There are many cases of people being alive but not being conscious, such as being in a coma, or possibly certain periods of sleep or other types of brain trauma. Continuously being conscious is not necessary for survival. Having the same body is not necessary for survival either, if other bodies can produce a consciousness that the original will experience.

The necessary aspect of survival for you is that there be a time after now that you will experience being conscious.

The necessary aspect of survival for you, from others people view point, is that your body is alive, whether you are conscious or not. This is because they can not see if you are actually conscious . They, themselves, only consciously see your behavior.
