Veil of ignorance concept is based upon the following thought experiment: people making political decisions imagine that they know nothing about the particular talents, abilities, tastes, social class, and positions they will have within a social order. When such parties are selecting the principles for distribution of rights, positions, and resources in the society in which they will live, this "veil of ignorance" prevents them from knowing who will receive a given distribution of rights, positions, and resources in that society. (Wiki definition)

This concept applies to a singular self produced by only one body for a short time period equal to this body's life time. If you believe that your current body is the only body that can produce a consciousness that you experience you might be tempted to only care about the experiences that body produces. The science of superimmortality predicts that there are many bodies that can produce your consciousness through out space and time. This means you (as in consciousnesses that you experience) can be in more than one place at the same time. If there are different versions of you that exist at one time this means that you can influence the life style of these versions of you as well as they can influence what you experience. The laws, rules, and behavior that you create that may appear to make your life better may in fact make your other conscious lives much worse. There is a veil of ignorance for everyone toward the different versions of yourselves. If you make rules and laws that are bad, unfair, unjust, etc. you may greatly suffer for them now or in the future.

The "veil of ignorance" is not a though experiment it actually applies to reality and you specifically. No one knows for sure how many people will have your ixperiencitness now or in the future. More likely is that other may not have identical ixperiencitness as yours but percentage wise identity of ixperiencitness, physasection wise identity of ixperiencitness, or physapart wise identity of ixperiencitness.
