Ethics and Awaretheory
Ethics, also known as moral philosophy, is a branch of philosophy that addresses questions about morality — that is, concepts such as good and evil, right and wrong, virtue and vice, justice and crime, etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethics
The ideas in awaretheory, if true and there are very good reasons to believe that they are true, when applied and understood have a large effect on ethics. It looks like awaretheory makes death not as bad. Awaretheory makes immortality true under certian definitions of immortality and probable under other definitions. It does not guarantee anyones conscious existence after death but it does make it possible to experience conscious existence before and after death in many different ways. It explains how immortality and life after death is possible with out gods and other supernatural concepts like souls.
Awaretheory gives the ability to produce survival, life after death, and immortality to conscious beings as a conscious process that we have control of. There are many ethical questions that occur when life after death is something that we can control. Such as: "What consciousnesses and ixperiencitnesses should be produced and which one should not be produced now and in the future?" Should people be punished, replaced or modified for the unethical things that they do? If it turns out that there are many versions of each person existing through out space and time in many different universes should people have to suffer a terrible life when their death is not the end of their conscious existence?
What really makes a major difference in ethics is the new definition of an ixperiencitness as a grouping of awarepaths which makes a person much more than just the current moment of conscious existence.
