Anesthesia

An anesthesia is often considered to be a chemical or group of chemicals producing insensitivity to pain often artificially induced by the administration of gases or the injection of drugs before surgical operations. Different anesthesias can often can produce unconsciousness if given in the right amounts. These kinds of drugs can completely inhibit the production of dreams, memories and an awareness of the passing of time and other forms of consciousness even though the body is still alive and there appears to be some degree of functioning in the brain occurring.
